About Lilly,
Lilly Undercroft began her illustration career almost accidently.
An avid vegetable gardener and small-scale farmer she would deliver her produce to a couple of local restaurants and would include little hand painted cards showcasing highlights from her garden. Eventually, folks started asking her to create custom illustrations. Lilly realized her love of food illustration and being not only a gardener but a cook she has intimate knowledge of the subject and is endlessly inspired by food and food cultures.
Then, a birthday gift of an iPad was a revelation when she downloaded Procreate. Lilly hasn’t looked back since (though she still uses traditional mediums when time permits).
Lilly’s illustrations are a delightful blend of whimsy and glamor—-a style she affectionately calls “whimsy-glam.”
She is also a self-proclaimed texture junkie, and she’s not afraid to use it liberally. Lilly’s color choices are of the moment and mood from dazzling to subdued depending on the source of inspiration but always loaded with texture.
